The Garden packaging design stands out with its unique combination of two identities - "pop-up" and "packaging". Drawing inspiration from interactive books, the packaging features chairs that stand up during the opening process, resembling a ballet stage. This innovative approach transforms the packaging into more than just a box, adding a touch of whimsy and storytelling.
The Garden packaging is made using degradable plant fiber paper, ensuring its eco-friendliness. The pop-up structure enriches the interior space, creating a more immersive and captivating experience for the user. The design team aimed to create a packaging that goes beyond its functional purpose and evokes a sense of wonder and delight.
With a size of 290*150*86 mm, the Garden packaging is compact yet spacious enough to hold essential oil bottles securely. The use of degradable water-based materials presented a challenge in terms of coloring, but it aligns with the brand's commitment to sustainability.
Designed by Chen Yueying and Zhan Zhupeng, with contributions from Chen Huifeng, Tang Wenjin, and Hu Zhangxian, the Garden packaging design offers a unique interaction. As the packaging is opened, the chairs inside erect, creating a miniature garden stage. This delightful surprise adds an element of playfulness to the user experience.
The Garden packaging design project commenced in July 2019 in China and was completed in December 2019. The design has been recognized for its excellence and innovation, receiving the Iron A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category in 2020. This award acknowledges the design's practicality, innovation, and adherence to professional and industrial requirements.
